Firearm discharge in south Ottawa leads to charges against two men

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service has charged two men with multiple firearms offences following an incident in the city’s south end.
On April 2, at approximately 2:28 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Riverside Drive for a suspicious incident.
While on scene, officers determined that a firearm had been discharged.
On April 3, police located and arrested two men in connection with the incident and seized a firearm.
Two men, aged 27 and 30, are each facing multiple drug and firearms-related charges, including:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Reckless discharge of a firearm
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a valid licence and registration
- Possession of a loaded firearm
