Guns and Gangs Unit investigating third shooting at Preston Street business

Ottawa — Investigators from the Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit are seeking information or witnesses following a third shooting at a commercial business on Preston Street.
On August 29, 2026, evidence of gunfire was discovered outside Preston Hardware near the intersection of Preston Street and Gladstone Avenue. Investigators believe shots were fired at the business during the overnight hours of August 28 into August 29.
There were no reported injuries.
This is the third shooting incident involving the same business this year. Previous incidents occurred on March 16 and on July 9, 2026.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or who may have relevant video surveillance or dash camera footage, to contact police.
