Man charged following drug trafficking investigation in Centretown
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, August 4 , 2026 1:15 p.m.
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service has charged a man following a drug trafficking investigation in the Centretown neighbourhood.
Members of the Central District Centretown Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT) conducted an investigation following numerous community complaints regarding suspected drug activity in the area of Cooper Street.
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year old male was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x3 and possession of proceeds of crime.
During the arrest, officers seized:
- 21.9 grams of crack cocaine
- 11.5 grams of fentanyl
- 103 hydromorphone pills
- A scale
- Two cell phones
- $1,275 in Canadian currency
