Man charged with sexual offences, police seeking other victims

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged a 23-year-old man in connection with sexual related offences.
Members of the OPS Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit (SACA) believe there may be other victims. The incidents occurred in Ottawa during January of 2026.
Omer Faruk Yildirim, 23-years- old from Ottawa, was charged with thirteen criminal code offences including, but not limited to:
- Sexual Assault Under 16 years
- Sexual Interference Under 16 years
- Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 years
- Sexual Assault with Choking
- Administering Noxious Thing
- Luring a Person Under 14 years by Means of Telecommunication
- Abduction of a Person Under 14 years
- Unlawfully Possess Child Sexual Abuse Material
He is scheduled to appear in court.
Yildirim communicated over social media using Snapchat, and a username associated with his Snapchat account of “ottawamoe”
SACA investigators believe there could be other victims.
