Suspect to identify in Meadowlands Drive robbery

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect following an assault and theft.
On Friday, June 19, at approximately 3 p.m., a taxi driver was dispatched to the 1100 block of Meadowlands Drive for a pickup. Once on scene, the driver was assaulted by an unknown male passenger. The man then entered the taxi and stole cash before fleeing the area.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 190 to 200 lbs., with dark hair worn in a short ponytail and a short dark beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants, and white Adidas running shoes. He was carrying a black backpack and a blue reusable shopping bag.
