Suspect to identify in residential bicycle theft

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, August 4 , 2026  2:30 p.m.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect involved in the theft of a custom-built bicycle from a residential driveway in the Alta Vista area.

Between July 12 and July 14, a specially built bicycle was stolen from the driveway of a residence. The bicycle was custom-made for an elderly male with advanced Parkinson’s disease.

The suspect is described as a male with long brown curly hair past his shoulders, tanned skin, wearing a red t-shirt, black pants with patches, black rubber or motorcycle-style boots, and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information about this individual's identity or this incident is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-122 ext. 4713.
