Three years later, investigators continue to seek answers in Infinity Convention Centre homicides

Ottawa — Three years after a shooting outside the Infinity Convention Centre left two men dead and six others injured, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Homicide Unit continues to investigate and is renewing its appeal for information from the public.
On September 2, 2023, at approximately 10:21 p.m., police and emergency responders were called to the 2900 block of Gibford Drive following reports of a shooting outside a convention centre, where a wedding celebration was taking place.
Said Mohamed Ali, 26, and Abdishakur Abdi-Dahir, 29, both of Toronto, were killed. Six other people were injured.
The investigation remains open and active.
Investigators believe there are people who attended the wedding, or who have knowledge of what happened that night, who have not yet shared everything they know with police.
Three years have passed, but information that may have seemed insignificant at the time could still help investigators move this case forward.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting, has information about the circumstances surrounding it, or has information about those responsible is urged to contact police.
