Two arrested following robbery, multiple vehicle thefts and break-and-enters across Ottawa
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, March 16, 2026 1:15 p.m.
(Ottawa) — Ottawa Police have arrested two suspects following a series of violent incidents involving a robbery, multiple vehicle thefts, and residential break-and-enters across the city.
On March 14 at 8:34 a.m., officers initially responded to a robbery involving a vehicle carjacking in the 200 block of West Hunt Club Rd. Two suspects confronted a driver while armed with a knife, stole the victim’s vehicle, and fled the area.
Shortly afterward, the suspects attended a residential address in the west end where they forced entry into a home, confronted the homeowner, and stole the homeowner’s vehicle keys before fleeing in a second stolen vehicle.
The suspects then travelled into the east end, where they were involved in a motor vehicle collision. A passing motorist stopped to assist. When the motorist exited their vehicle, the suspects entered the vehicle and stole it, fleeing in what became the third stolen vehicle connected to the incident.
Police later determined the suspects had returned to the west end where they committed a second break-and-enter at a residential address. During this incident, the suspects became involved in a physical altercation with the homeowner, who sustained minor injuries.
The male suspect fled the area on foot while the female suspect remained inside the home where she was subsequently arrested. Officers quickly converged on the area and located the male suspect a short time later and arrested without further incident.
The Robbery Unit continues the investigation, and charges are pending.
