Update: Additional Information and Photo - Uber Driver charged with sexual assault

(Ottawa)–The Ottawa Police Service’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit (SACA) arrested and charged an Ottawa resident with sexual offences following an investigation that commenced on July 25th, 2026:
Mohamed LAAROUS, 36 years of age, is charged with one count of Sexual Assault.
LAAROUS was scheduled to appear in court July 27th, 2026.
SACA investigators believe there could be other victims in and around the Ottawa area as LAAROUS was a rideshare driver for Uber and Lyft so are releasing a photo of the accused.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5944. Tips may also be sent electronically to SACA@ottawapolice.ca.
Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
