(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is proud to welcome its newest class of recruits — a diverse and dedicated group of individuals united by a shared commitment to community and service.
This latest class brings together individuals from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds, reflecting the many communities that make up Ottawa. Among them are teachers, journalists, engineers, project managers, peace officers, athletes, and community volunteers. Together, they represent the next generation of policing — one that values compassion, accountability, and connection.
Recruits joining the OPS include individuals who have served their communities in many ways, from volunteering with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Special Olympics, to supporting vulnerable populations through the Ottawa Mission and Ontario Parks, to serving in Canada’s Armed Forces and government roles. Many are lifelong residents of Ottawa, while others have journeyed from as far as Brazil, Morocco, and India to make this city their home.
Together, they speak more than a dozen languages, hold advanced degrees in criminology, finance, political science, and engineering, and share one clear goal: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Their dedication, empathy, and courage will help ensure that Ottawa remains a safe and welcoming city for everyone.
