Ottawa — On October 19, 2026, members of the Ottawa Police Service Central District Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT), with assistance from the Drug Intake Unit and Tactical Unit, executed a search warrant at a cannabis and nicotine retail establishment in the 300 block of Catherine Street.
As a result of the investigation, police seized significant quantities of illicit cannabis, tobacco, nicotine products and cash, including:
- 72,720 cigarettes
- 187 tins of nicotine pouches
- 335 cigars
- 124 nicotine vape devices
- Approximately 13 kilograms of cannabis flower
- 49,244 mg of THC-infused edibles
- 393 grams of hash
- 80 THC vape cartridges
- More than $10,000 in Canadian currency
A 32-year-old Ottawa woman was charged under the Cannabis Control Act with selling and possessing illicit cannabis. She was also charged under the Criminal Code with selling unpackaged and unstamped tobacco, and possession of proceeds of crime.
The investigation forms part of the Ottawa Police Service's ongoing efforts to address the illegal sale of cannabis, tobacco and nicotine products within the community. Illegal cannabis and tobacco operations undermine the regulated market, expose consumers to unregulated products, and may contribute to other forms of criminal activity.
Anyone with information regarding the sale of illicit cannabis or tobacco products is encouraged to contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or through the Crime Stoppers website.
