Arrests made in connection with shooting on Prince Albert Street

Shooting on Prince Albert Street

(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon in the 300 block of Prince Albert Street.

Shortly after 1 p.m., police received multiple 911 calls reporting that a man had been shot. Officers arrived on scene, located the victim, and provided first aid until Ottawa Paramedics assumed care and transported him to hospital in critical condition.

A short time later, responding officers took one person into custody.

Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Residents in the area can expect an increased police presence as officers canvass the neighbourhood for witnesses, video, and evidence.

The Guns and Gangs Unit is continuing the investigation.
