Hate-Motivated graffiti under investigation

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating a hate-motivated incident that occurred in the 300 block of Rideau Street.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on June 2, officers responded to a report of mischief. Upon arrival, they discovered graffiti containing a racial slur on a mural.
Arrangements have been made for the graffiti to be removed.
The OPS Hate and Bias Crime Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Hate and Bias Crime Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2015.
