Investigators seek public assistance to identify suspect in Bank Street stabbing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, June 23, 2026  10:30 a.m. 

(Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking for the public’s assistance to identify a person involved in a serious assault.

On May 16, 2026, a victim was stabbed behind a commercial business in the 400 block of Bank Street at approximately 3:15 a.m.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

Investigators are looking to identify a suspect who is described as a White man with a thin build and grey hair. At the time, he was wearing a black-and-white hat, a green hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
