Man charged following hate-motivated road rage incident

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged a 46-year-old man following an investigation into a hate-motivated road rage incident.
On February 7, 2026, Hate and Bias Crime Unit investigators were notified of a road rage interaction in which the suspect engaged in aggressive behaviour toward another driver while uttering hate-motivated comments. The incident was captured on video and shared on social media.
Following an investigation, the 46-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with Assault, Criminal Harassment, and Mischief to Property.
The OPS reminds the public that hate motivated incidents are taken seriously, and investigators will continue to pursue charges where evidence supports that an offence was motivated by bias, prejudice, or hate.
