Ottawa — The Ottawa Police Service conducted Project Fall Out from September 21 to 27, focusing on public safety and community concerns in Chinatown and Centretown.
The coordinated initiative involved members of the Community Outreach Response Engagement (CORE) Team and the Central Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT), who conducted high-visibility patrols, proactive enforcement and community outreach throughout the week.
Officers engaged with residents, business owners and community members, including through positive interactions along Bank Street and Somerset Street.
As a result of the initiative:
- 23 people were arrested for offences ranging from Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) violations to Assault Police;
- One Trespass to Property Act Provincial Offence Notice (PON) was issued; and
- One stolen bicycle was recovered.
Project Fall Out reflects the Ottawa Police Service’s continued focus on combining targeted enforcement with community-based policing to address neighbourhood concerns, enhance public safety and strengthen relationships with the communities we serve.
