Suspect to identify in Montreal Road bank robbery

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, August 6,  2026    4:00 p.m.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a bank robbery in the 500 block of Montreal Road.

On August 4, 2026 at approximately 11:20 a.m., the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded cash. Staff complied, and the suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as:

  • White man
  • Approximately 40 years old
  • Tanned complexion
  • Grey hair
  • Light-coloured beard
  • Pointed nose

At the time of the incident, he was wearing:

  • Black sunglasses
  • A black baseball cap with a red brim featuring the Ottawa Redblacks logo
  • A light green-blue T-shirt
  • A jacket
  • Black jeans

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or details related to the incident was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5116.
