Update: Man arrested in relation to a Bank Street shooting investigation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, September 17, 2026 1:45 p.m.

Ottawa — The Ottawa Police Service has arrested a 33-year-old Ottawa man in relation to a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of Bank Street on September 12, 2026.

Amin Osman-Ali was arrested this morning and charged with several firearms-related offences and aggravated assault.

He appeared in court this morning.

The victim of the shooting remains in critical condition in hospital.

Shooting investigation on Bank Street

Ottawa — The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in the 1600 block of Bank Street.

Just after 4:30 a.m., police located a man in his 20s in life-threatening condition. Ottawa Paramedics transported him to hospital.

No one is in custody at this time.

The Guns and Gangs Unit and East Investigations Section are investigating.
