Fatal collision at Highway 174 / Canaan Rd; police seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is seeking witnesses to a fatal collision yesterday, April 22, on Highway 174.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., emergency crews were called to Highway 174 between Canaan Road and Old Montreal Road for a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer.

Sadly, a man in his 40s is deceased. He was the sole occupant of the car.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, April 22, 2025  2:40 p.m.

(Ottawa) — Officers recovered an illegal firearm and charged an Ottawa man with numerous offences after initially responding to a disturbance.

On April 13, police responded to a disturbance at a home in the 1200 block of Dorchester Avenue. The following day, officers returned with a search warrant and located an illegal firearm.

A man in his 40s was charged with numerous weapons offences and held in custody.

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist that occurred this afternoon at approximately 1:47 pm at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Walkley Road. The cyclist was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
