(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is advising residents to be vigilant in light of an emerging trend of daylight-hour vehicle thefts.

“Thieves are getting brazen,” says Staff Sergeant Cathy Brown, head of the OPS Intelligence Unit. “You may have your mind on your seasonal shopping list, but thieves are taking advantage of unattended vehicles in parking lots to steal your car, SUV or truck.”

Second arrest in Grenfell Crescent shooting

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has charged a second person in relation to a shooting that occurred on Saturday, November 12, 2022 on Grenfell Crescent.

Ahmed SAMI, 22-years-old, of Ottawa, has been charged with multiple firearm-related offences, including discharging a firearm, assault, and other drug charges.

Arson Unit seeking witnesses for two fires on Gladstone Ave

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit is seeking the public’s help with ongoing investigations into two separate suspicious fires that occurred at an apartment building in the 800 block of Gladstone Avenue over the last 10 days.

The first fire occurred at approximately 3:00 pm on November 19. Two people suffered minor injuries and there was substantial damage to the building’s 6th floor.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is seeking the public’s help in an investigation into a Robbery that occurred on November 2nd at a commercial store in Nepean.

At approximately 12:30 pm, a man entered a business in the 2000 block of Grant Carman Drive. The suspect stole items and proceeded to assault two staff members before exiting on foot.
