Charges laid in a hate-related assault and mischief

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Hate and Bias Crime Unit has charged a 31-year-old Ottawa woman following an April 11th assault on an OC Transpo bus.
At approximately 11:50 a.m., the woman assaulted another passenger by pulling off the passenger’s hijab.
The woman has been charged with:
- Assault
- Mischief interfering with lawful enjoyment – 2 counts
- Breach of Probation

(Ottawa) — A man was arrested this weekend when police responded to a break-in at a commercial business in the 0-100 block of Arlington Avenue early Sunday morning, April 13.
Investigators believe the same individual is responsible for an additional break and enter at another commercial business in the 400 block of Gladstone Ave.
