(Ottawa) — On Wednesday, November 16th, the Ottawa Police Service Street Crime and Drug Units concluded an 8-month investigation into a local firearm trafficking and wholesale fentanyl distribution network.   

Project Amethyst was supported through funding provided by the Ontario Government, Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario and has resulted in the arrest of four Ottawa men and one woman.

Intimate Partner Violence Unit

(Ottawa) In collaboration with recommendations made by Ottawa’s frontline violence against women (VAW) workers and advocates, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has changed the name of its Partner Assault Unit to the Intimate Partner Violence Unit.

Man charged in hate-motivated incident

(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Service Hate and Bias Crime Unit charged a man in relation to an assault at a commercial business on September 3, 2022.

A man entered a business in the 900 block of Wellington St and while there, created a disturbance that resulted in him being told to leave. The suspect then uttered racial slurs at one of the employees, threatened them, and spat at them before fleeing.
