How do I obtain my Disclosure package? |
|
All disclosure is provided by the Crown Attorney’s Office or the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC.) To obtain your Disclosure and Screening form contact the respective Crown’s Office. For Provincial Crown for Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) offences:
PPSC/ Federal Crown: Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) ex. illegal possession or trafficking of a drug. Also other federal charges – ex. excise tax or income tax.

How will I be served a Subpoena or Summons? |
|
Documents are served by our team of Special Constables. They will either call ahead to make arrangements if they have a valid phone number, or visit the address on file to serve the documents. If you have updated contact information or questions, please email [email protected]. |

What if I have questions or concerns about being a witness in a trial? |
|
Witnesses play a very important role in court matters and it is the Crown Attorney’s office who determines which witnesses will be required for each case. For assistance, you can either call 613-239-1200, or email [email protected], and the staff will be able to answer any questions. |

How do I attend a Remote Case Management (Remand) Court? |
|
Remand Courts now operate in a hybrid capacity, where accused persons can choose to either attend in person or call in via Zoom.
Whether joining over the internet or by phone, you will need to enter a meeting ID and passcode (see below) Courtroom #14: Meeting ID (Internet or phone): 648 1220 3132 / Passcode (both methods): 606263 Courtroom #7: Meeting ID (both methods): 646 2810 8539 / Passcode (both methods): 514752 When you join you will be placed on hold or in a video waiting room. You may be waiting for some time while the court deals with other cases. Follow any direction provided by the presiding Judicial Official or the Court Clerk. Trials and Guilty Plea courts are in person unless otherwise arranged through the Crown’s Office. |
About Court Liaison
Working together, the 50 plus members: Civilians, Special Constables, and an Inspector, complete a variety of court related tasks to assist in the preparation and administration of files for the Provincial and Criminal courts.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of the various Court Liaison teams are:
Charge Process & Bail Team – This team is responsible for the creation of the Charge packages and for having court Informations generated and sworn to by a Justice of the Peace.
Case Support Team - The team’s primary duties include attending several different remand courts and updating OPS court files, requesting disclosure on behalf of the Crown Attorney and providing additional disclosure to the respective Crown’s Offices’ when received.
Criminal Case Management Team - The members of this team are responsible for issuing and canceling all police and civilian subpoenas requested by the Crown Attorney’s office for Ottawa Police criminal matters.
Traffic Case Management Team - The Traffic Case Management or POA Team is responsible for the management of all Ottawa Police’s POA matters, proceeding at the Provincial Offences Court. The team handles all Part 1 (PON), Part 2 (Parking tickets) and Part 3 (Summons) offences.
Court Criminal Records Team – The team is responsible for the approval of booking information and the submission of fingerprints to the RCMP, as well as reporting criminal court dispositions.
Document Servers Team - The team comprises Special Constables whose primary duty is serving various court issued documents across the City of Ottawa. These documents include: Subpoenas, Summons to Accused, Summons to Witness, and Bench Summons.
