Hosted by the OPS MDT Unit, the annual training brought together dive teams from across Ontario, including the Ontario Provincial Police, York Regional Police, Peel Regional Police and Niagara Regional Police Service.

I was born and raised in Ottawa, and I’ve been a civilian member of the Ottawa Police Service since 2002.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in a variety of roles, including Courts, CPIC, Backgrounds, the Intimate Partner Violence Unit, and Front Desk Services.
I grew up in Montreal, Quebec, where I lived until the age of 13, before moving to Melbourne, Australia for two years.
After returning to Montreal for several more years, I relocated to Ottawa to complete my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science.
Meet Kelly Fontil — a master tailor whose craftsmanship has quietly supported the Ottawa Police Service for decades.
Originally from Haiti, Kelly joined his mother in Canada in 1984. One day, walking through the ByWard Market, he stopped into Mendel Good’s tailor store, and struck up a conversation with owner. That conversation changed his life. Mr. Good offered him a job.
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) executed two search warrants at unlicensed cannabis dispensaries in the city’s west end on February 20, 2026, following reports that they were operating without licenses contrary to the Cannabis Control Act.
At approximately 9:25 a.m., members of the West Neighbourhood Resource Team (NRT), with support from the Central Neighbourhood Resource Team, Tactical Unit and Drug Unit, carried out a Provincial Offences Act warrant in the 200 block of Richmond Road.

Titled “What is Possible at OPS”, the event will give members of the public the chance to learn about a variety of roles within the Service, speak directly with teams, and gain insight into career pathways across youth programs, volunteer positions, sworn officers, and civilian roles.
The Ottawa Police Service proudly hosted another successful Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario, with members, community partners, and supporters coming together in a show of courage and community spirit.
Thanks to the generosity of participants, donors and sponsors, this year’s event raised more than $63,000 for Special Olympics Ontario and its athletes and families across the province.
