(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating what is believed to be a targeted shooting that occurred on June 10 at approximately 4 a.m.

Multiple 911 calls were received for reports of people hearing gunshots in the area of Fine Crescent, with one resident reporting that their house had been hit.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers attended the 1500 block of Merivale Road, where approximately 40 motorcycles and 15 to 20 vehicles had gathered. 

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit has arrested Gibriil Bakal, 31 years old, in relation to the homicide of Jama Roble on Champagne Avenue South.

Bakal was wanted for first-degree murder following a shooting that occurred on January 29, 2024, in the 100 block of Champagne Avenue South.
